I’m Alex Iteen, MD, a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician living here in the San Marcos. After years of working in ERs and Urgent Cares, I noticed the same thing over and over, patients coming in with minor issues that didn’t really need an emergency or urgent care visit. What they needed was quick, reliable help so things didn’t turn into a long night in the waiting room.

That’s what led me to create this micro-practice.
​
I wanted to bring back a simple idea, a neighborhood doctor you can reach when something comes up, who can either talk you through it or stop by your home if you need a hands-on assessment. By being a self-pay model and staying outside the insurance-driven system, I’m able to keep things straightforward, spend more time with patients, and offer care that’s actually convenient. Plus I'm your neighbor!

How It Will Work
1. Submit an Appointment Request
Fill out a quick online form with your contact info (patient's as well name if under 18), address (must be in the Santa Fe Hills neighborhood), and a brief description of your concern. Choose whether telehealth or an at home visit is preferred.

2. I Review Your Request
I look over every request personally. If your issue is something I can safely treat, I’ll reach out to schedule your visit. If it’s better suited for an urgent care or ER, I’ll let you know and help point you in the right direction.

3. Receive Care & Follow-Up
Your visit is paid at the time scheduling with clear, upfront pricing. If medication is needed I will prescribe it to which ever pharmacy you want. Your medication may be covered by your insurance.
